Aura Series 1, Silver and Blue 12x12 Fluid Landscapes
Aura Series 1, Silver and Blue 12x12 Fluid Landscapes
This is the piece in Kathryn’s original instagram post showing her new technique. The sky is very dynamic with iridescent blue and greens over a silver forest.
The Aura Series is a mixed media landscape series inspired by the visual disturbances from Kathryn’s classic migraines. It incorporates Kathryn’s love of forests and the night sky.
Kathryn is a third generation female painter, and all the women artists in Kathryn’s family experience classic migraines with aura. Kathryn named this series the Aura Series to honor them and their gifts. A self-taught painter and former forester, Kathryn features many species of trees in this series.
The circles in the sky were made with a proprietary technique that Kathryn developed for resin art and has never shared. This is the first series featuring her new technique.
This is a surreal landscape painting finished with metal leaf and resin in Kathryn’s signature fluid landscapes style. The sky was created with a resin pour. No prints will be made of this series, and the paintings are exclusive and one of a kind.
There is subtle glitter in the resin to give the painting more dimension and make it look like polished stone. The paintings can be cleaned easily with glass cleaner.
This is a one of a kind original abstract fluid painting in 12" x 12" resin and silver leaf on cradled birch with 1.5" stretcher bars. It has been stamped on the back by the artist’s custom aspen leaf stamp.
Due to the difficulty of photographing dark resin, there are some reflections in the photos, so the paintings are positioned at multiple angles to show how the appearance changes with different light. To see how the painting looks as light moves over it, see this video.
This painting is unframed, but hanging hardware is attached and the edges are finished to match (see photos) so you can hang it unframed or add a frame that suits your decor.
