About this Piece

This acacia cutting board features a branch of Western Redcedar, inlaid into a carved design with food safe resin, pigment and crushed mussel shells, part of the Forest Floor series. The back of the board is plain wood, and both surfaces can be used.

The wood has been sealed with a food safe natural finish. This board measures approximately 12” x 7” x 1” and has a handle.

Cleaning instructions: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Condition the wood regularly by wiping with food safe mineral oil and a soft cloth. Not recommended for immersion in water, dishwasher cleaning or storage outdoors.

Western Redcedar

The Western Redcedar (Thuja plicata) is a culturally important BC conifer with overlapping scale-like needles. It has soft bark in vertical strips. These trees grow in moist, shaded areas and can live for thousands of years.
