Repurpose 2022 Square Tray - Jewels
Repurpose 2022 Square Tray - Jewels
About the Repurpose Series
This series was made to celebrate Earth Day, repurposing the accumulated paint drips from a year in the studio.
The Repurpose mosaics are created with the leftover drips of paint and resin from Kathryn’s artwork, and sealed in resin. Each one is unique, and uses up materials that would otherwise be wasted.
About this Piece
This piece was made with all the not-quite-perfect pieces of Repurpose resin jewelry, tiled together into a patchwork and sealed with another layer of resin. It’s heavy! Kathryn’s resin jewelry is made with leftover drips of mixed resin and ground up paint drips, so this piece is twice recycled.
These trays are the new, upgraded style of rectangular and square trays, and are larger and heavier than the original rectangular trays. You can read about the new trays and compare formats here.
The acacia tray measures 16” square. The tray is packaged with ribbon and a care instruction card. It has been stamped on the back with the artist's custom brand.
Cleaning instructions: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. The flat resin tray top can be cleaned with glass cleaner or alcohol. The wood can be conditioned with mineral oil.
The tray has been finished with food safe resin, and can be used as a serving tray or decorative tray. Not recommended for hot foods, prolonged outdoor use or immersion in water.
This is a handmade piece of art on natural acacia, and all handmade pieces will have small cosmetic bubbles or defects in the resin, or irregularities in the wood. Check photos carefully and message us for any clarifications.
